Do you know those questions we always do to ourselves (or at least we should), like “Why Do I do what I do?” or “why do I love doing what I do?”. I love being a photographer and I love even more being a family photographer, and I often ask myself why. But the answer is not always obvious or even rational. To me, it’s more like something I just know I want to do. I feel very strong energy when I photograph families, they inspire and excite me. But if I had to say some rational reasons, could say these 7 Reasons why I love being a family photographer. And they would be:
1. Because life changes all the time
This could be one of the reasons why photography at all fascinates me so much. But when we are talking about children this reason takes even a larger dimension. Do you know those details that, from one month to the next, have already changed? The photograph gives me a feeling that they will always be there and they won’t be forgotten.
2. Because I love children
That’s kind of an obvious one. Children are wonderful, and being close to them reenergizes me. They are free, creative and incredible souls. I learn so much from them and I get close to the true meaning of life when I’m around them.
3.Because the memories of childhood are the most beautiful
What a wonderful time our childhood is. But it goes so fast. As a family photographer, I want to collaborate with those future adults so that they’ll have the memories of this beautiful phase saved forever.
4. Because Family Matters
I know that not all families are the best in the world. But I come from an Italian family and since I was little I learned to value our moments together. My family is my foundation and they are the ones who will always be there for me, no matter what. Just being with my parents, brothers (I have 3), uncles and grandparents is something I value so much I want to register it for other families as well.
5. Because I believe a family photographer can help you to value the present (and helps when times become difficult)
When NOW is so beautiful that we want to remember it forever just the way it was. If you have kids you probably already felt like you are in a bubble and cannot be aware of anything outside your everyday life. Especially in the first year of the baby. Then the photography can help you to realize what a great blessing your life is! You realize that every cry, sleepless night, and tiredness are worth it.
6. Because photos are the best gift parents can give their children
It is not only to register how the kids are in each phase. I know today’s mobiles can help the parents to record each breath of their children. But when it comes to the family as a whole, the family photographer becomes more important. Caring and connecting with parents is what will most be important to the children when they are adults.
7. Because I cannot wait to have kids
And I would also like to see from the outside how we are going to be together as a family. <3
