Close your eyes and drive yourself to some time of your childhood. Look who’s with you, what clothes they’re wearing. Look around, how is where you are, what objects are there. What jokes are you making and how are you feeling. Now imagine if you had the chance to have this image as a photograph, how much do you think it would be worth?

This is the spirit that documentary photography seeks to rescue. Much more than parents who want to perpetuate the childhood of their children, documentary photography is, in fact, the best gift parents could give them. When they grow up it will be in this kind of photography that they will find memories of the details, of the caresses and of the day to day life of their childhood and family. In this kind of photography the parents are present, interacting, worried, cheerful or whatever they are.

For short sessions, you can choose documentary or lifestyle style.

If you want documentary sessions (storytelling), the approach is similar to Day in The Life sessions. The difference is that you should plan the activities you will do because we have less time. It can be those simple moments that happen every day or special ones you want to remember. For example, the time you all get up of the bed in the morning, have breakfast together. Or when you do some activity together as a family, like playing games or making a cake. We can chat and decide together what’s important to you.

You can also choose for a lifestyle session, which means kind of a portrait session but with no pose, cheesy uncomfortable moments or matching outfits. I seek to bring elements of the personalities of your family during the session, that can be at home or outdoors. It results in timeless photographs that keep beautiful even years later, never going out of fashion. Each family is unique and I am happy when the photographs can show their beauty.
